  1. My name is Marlaina. I do not have a middle name. Never have and I like it that way. When I was married, I hypenated my last name. Now I am back to just Abbott.

  2. I have been married unsuccessfully TWICE. The third time is supposedly a charm for everything though, right?

  3. I have two kids. Morgan is 13 and Tony will be five in December 2008. They’re amazing and I post a lot about them.

  4. I have a dog, three cats, and 6 chickens.

  5. I don’t really like cats that much but I tolerate our three quite well. They’re good kitty cats for the most part.

  6. I live in Conway, SC. It’s an interesting little town. It probably would have never been my first choice, but I can tolerate it here… for now at least.

  7. I have constant wanderlust. So, you never know when I might pick up and move to Timbuktu.

  8. I will never be happy with my weight. Never have been and never will be. Get over it if you want to yell at me about it. My life is one diet and exercise program to the next. Not going to change.

  9. My 4 year old is autistic.

  10. My 13 year old has attended the National Spelling Bee twice.

  11. I hate narrow-minded people.

  12. I am an adamant Libertarian.

  13. I am firmly AGAINST gun control.

  14. I am staunchly pro-choice.

  15. I have gay friends and family members. They don’t care who I sleep with and I don’t care who they sleep with (as long as they are nice people). If you want to gay bash, I am NOT the chick to talk to.

  16. I like red wine. I like certain liquors. No, I am not an alcoholic. In fact, sometimes I go weeks without taking a drink.

  17. I don’t smoke. But, if it didn’t cause lung cancer, I would.

  18. I used to be a Mac user. I hate Microsoft but I love my new computer and Windoze has come a long way.

  19. I have a 1969 VW bus that I adore and maybe someday it will get restored. Until then, it’s plastered with bumper stickers and serves as my own protest vehicle.

  20. I also have an older diesel Mercedes. I plan to drive it FOREVER.

  21. I can fit in pretty much anywhere.

  22. Horses have always been and always will be a huge part of my life.

  23. I understand animals better than most people.

  24. I am addicted to Chick Fil-A.

  25. I like tattoos and boys that have them.

  26. A man who can ride a horse impresses me more than anything.

  27. My Dad was a Harley dealer so I also have a thing to motorcycles. For a long time I didn’t, but now it’s sort of coming back to me.

  28. I love to garden.

  29. I love to read.

  30. I hate people who are too self-centered to care about their fellow human beings.

  31. I notice a person’s eyes before anything else. All men should have blue eyes or green if they can’t have blue.

  32. According to my friends, I have only been in love once. I think twice is possibly more accurate. But, once was definitely true love and probably my soul mate (if you believe in things like that).

  33. I am fortunate enough to have really GREAT friends.

  34. I like hair bands. Sad but true.

  35. I have had a crush on Vince Neil for years. I know he’s old now, but so am I. And I still think he’s hot.

  36. I am rough around the edges. Even though I am supposedly an adult these days, sometimes I don’t act like it.

  37. I am “much too young to feel this damn old.” (Kudos to you if you know the song that came from and the artist)

  38. I like all types of music.

  39. I would rather be loved than have anything money can buy. “Stuff” just doesn’t do it for me.

  40. Cards, notes, and other simple ways of showing a person care do work for me.

  41. I read cheesy vampire books. And I like them.

  42. I also read all sorts of other stuff.

  43. I have a sordid past. And I am FINE with that.

  44. I watch rodeos. And show jumping. RELIGIOUSLY.

  45. Occasionally I have even been known to watch Nascar.

  46. My favorite color is purple but green is a close second.

  47. I like leather even though I am an animal rights activist. Yep. I have leather furniture too. And I like it.

  48. I am not particularly religious but I am VERY spiritual and I do believe in God.

  49. I despise hypocrites.

  50. I love African Violets. Seriously. LOVE them.

  51. I love seafood. All of it.

  52. I have great parents. And a great brother. We don’t always get along or even agree, but I know they all love me.

  53. I miss my two grandmothers each and every single day.

  54. I regret certain mistakes I have made daily too.

  55. I’m a civil engineering technologist but I don’t really want to be an engineer so I don’t do it…

  56. I love flip flops. And Birkenstocks. And other sandals.

  57. I was born and raised in the South and I turned out just fine.

  58. I have a rare auto-immune condition called ITP (Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura) but I try to keep myself healthy. I hope it goes into remission someday (like before they force me to have my spleen taken out) but, I am living with it.

  59. I name inanimate objects (computers, cars, etc.).

  60. Narrow minded people make me angry.

  61. I am staunchly against the war in Iraq. I support our troops FULLY. But, I want them brought home.

  62. I like funky old pin-up dresses and clothes even though I don’t ever have a chance to wear all of them that I have.

  63. I am 5′3″ but I wish I were MUCH taller.

  64. I love old art deco furniture.

  65. I think I was born too late for a lot of my tastes.

  66. I have tried absinthe.

  67. I’ve had the same best friend for almost 15 years. And I plan to keep it that way.

  68. I can’t drink enough beer to get drunk nor would I ever want to. I would just pee myself to death first.

  69. I lived in the same house almost my entire life until I left home. I enjoyed the stability even though at the time I didn’t appreciate it.

  70. I am jealous of how cute some of my friends are.

  71. I’m also jealous of people that seem to be able to not botch up relationships.

  72. I have had more careers and owned more businesses than anyone else I know my age… Or almost any age for that matter.

  73. One day I will decide what I want to be when I grow-up.

  74. I can sew… quite well… but I don’t.

  75. I suck at a lot of sports.

  76. I am addicted to caffeine.

  77. I like Coke instead of Pepsi. Mountain Dew is even better.

  78. I could always use a nap… or ten since I never catch-up on sleep.

  79. I wish I lived in an off-grid house.

  80. I love shoes.

  81. I always practice mindful consumerism.

  82. I am a member of the Compact.

  83. I don’t like meat on my pizza.

  84. I take better photos (of other people) than almost anyone I know.

  85. I am friends with almost all of the people from my past… I have VERY few enemies.

  86. I could eat a dozen Krispie Kreme donuts at a time if I would allow myself to.

  87. I have certain movies I watch over and over again just for the memories.

  88. Someday I want to take my bus on a cross-country camping trip.

  89. In some ways I am a hippie but I take way too many baths and don’t smell like patchouli. Plus, most of my brain cells still function.

  90. I have seen The Grateful Dead in concert BEFORE Jerry died. My parents didn’t know that I went… Oh well… that was 15 years ago and I don’t think they can ground me now…

  91. I like men in uniform or men who have worn uniforms!

  92. I adore fancy coffees that I don’t have to make myself.

  93. I am just learning how to play online games… yeah… I am behind the times.

  94. I have no place in my life for pansies… Men or women.

  95. I admire people with extreme patience because I have none.

  96. I can be completely ADD.

  97. Sometimes I go a week without turning my way too big TV on.

  98. I adore candles- especially scented soy ones.

  99. For some of the health benefits, I would be a vegetarian but I don’t have the willpower. Mostly I don’t eat pork. But, I admit to sometimes cheating.

  100. I really don’t give a damn what most people think about me. I am me. I am honest. That’s all that matters!

  That’s a start at least! I’ll keep updating if I think of anything else worthwhile.
